As you might have noticed we added a little banner in the right menue the other day. So, what does it mean?

Release Remix Album - 1/05 2008

This is something special! This summer Ane will be releasing the full length remix album “Ane Brun Objektified”!

For the album Ane has connected with one of the most exciting New York independent dance music label’s – Dennis Ferrer’s – Objektivity. Ferrer has gathered an international cast of some of today’s leading house and techno producers to take the works of Ane Brun one step further.

The first single to be released is the song “Headphone Silence”, remixed by Henrik Schwarz.

Henrik’s remix launches the project with edits from DJ Dixon and Dennis Ferrer. Berlin based Schwarz is one of the most innovative producers working in dance music. His remix of another Scandinavian folk singer, Mari Boine “Vuoi Vuoi Me” established his aptitude with this sort of vocal arrangement.

New York based Dennis Ferrer is known as the “hit maker” and has had a string of huge club hits and remixes that universally appeal to an unprecedented cross section of the dance music community from techno to house.

The album will also feature unique remixes by Quentin Harris, The Martinez Brothers, Bah Sonik, Karizma, Jerome Sydenham and more.

New concert in Stockholm - 1/05 2008

Good news for all you that missed Ane Brun’s sold out concert at Göta Lejon (Sthlm) or just wants to renew the magis. Ane will be back in Stockholm on the 3rd of October for a concert at the fantastic venue Konserthuset.

One for all and all for one - 21/04 2008

You, who already have been to one of the shows on this European Tour know that Ane won’t perform just armed with her guitar, but is supported by a talented band. Today we’d like to introduce you to Ane’s little orchestra:

Let’s start with the string section, sitting at the back of the scene but being an important ingredience for finding the right mood in the songs. Anna Rodell, is playing the violin and usually performs and records with many different artists. She has earlier contributed to songs by Moneybrother, Eldkvarn, Ed Hardcourt, Bo Kaspers Orkester and Niklas Riesbeck’s band.

Linnea Olsson, the second string girl, is playing the cello. As well as Anna she is performing and recording with several bands, such as Sounds of Eternity and Eldkvarn.

Very important for the rhythm section – the bass player Per Björling and drummer Erik Nilsson, who also jumps in playing the synths.

On the keyboard we have Martin Hederos, who is a well known name in the Swedish music industry. Martin has been one of the founders of legendary The Soundtrack of Our Lives, and is part of the duo Hederos & Hellberg. If you don’t know their music yet, you better check them out now!

Last but not least, Ane is supported by the talented pop singer Nina Kinert, in two ways. Nina is giving the little extra to all songs by singing the background vocals, for one. And secondly, she warms you up before the concert starts, playing her very own music. Beginning of April she released her new album “Pets & Friends”. Some days ago the Dutch multimedia magazine FaceCulture met Ane for an interview. Among other things they talked about Ane’s first steps as a performer, her musical progresses, the new album, future plans and much more! For FaceCulture Ane also performed her single The Puzzle, such as Linger My Head and Raise My Head live.

Kudos to... - 4/04 2008

“The composition of simplicity, beauty, poetry and drama is the secret of Ane Bruns success. (...) Ane does not perform songs, she is living them on stage. (...) When she is singing, she turns into a flickering flame.” writes the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet the day after Ane’s first gig on this European Tour. Ane played at Trondheim’s Dokkhuset, in front of a quiet, but concentrated and listening audience.

Not only Dagbladet let Ane drown in praise the day after. Verdens Gang/VG’s headline “Spectacular Brun” shows undoubtely that they loved the show. In an interview they did with Ane before the concert, they got some statements on the new record and the process of writing songs.

For those of you, who don’t understand Norwegian, we took the liberty to translate some of Ane’s answers:

Changing Of The Seasons
“And it definitely is less self-reflected. For me this record is a milestone when it comes to both the lyrics and the guitar play. I draw the circles in a larger range and write about others than myself.”

Writing songs
I am completely dependent on having silence around me to be able to write songs. But after the previous album there was so much going on, so many gigs. That’s why I released some duet- and live albums in between.”
